Review: This is such a fun book and brilliant for kids to have during the build up to Christmas. The activity book has thick matt pages inside filled with lots of colourful illustrations and text, and there are stickers at the back too. The book, a little smaller than A4, is filled with so many activities and fun things to do that I know I would have loved having this book as a child before Christmas.

The book is similar to the We’re Going on a Bear Hunt Let’s Discover Bugs and Lets discover Birds books. The overall look and arrangement of those books is so similar to this one but this time the focus is less on the wildlife and more on Christmas! The book has a mix of activities to do, some pages just need you to finish the pictures by adding stickers that are at the back of the book. Other pages have activities that children can do at home, such as making some special marzipan bears to eat, or making noisy shakers for Christmas, to activities to do such as ideas for games to play. As well as these activities to do away from the book, there are also fun things to do inside the book including a wordsearch and other such puzzles and games. The book is really packed with some lovely festive fun which will keep children busy and happy in the run up, and during Christmas.

The illustrations are all very lovely and all pages have a lot of colour in them. The illustrations are exactly like the ones in ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ except the characters are in new poses enjoying Christmas activities. The pages are very thick, this includes the stickers at the back which is good as half of the stickers are for colouring in. Some of the stickers that are pre-coloured in are shiny but there are matt black and white stickers to colour in yourself. All stickers have corresponding pages where they should be placed, and although there are no free stickers to put wherever you want, there’s something so fun about sticking stickers into a book (I personally love sticker activity books!).

This book is a nice one to give to kids before Christmas and they can enjoy making things and having some fun before the festivities. It’s also got some fun activities to do during the Christmas period and anyone who enjoys Christmas will like this book. The amount of activities and how complicated they are does feel a bit less than in the ‘Let’s discover Bugs’ and ‘Let’s Discover Birds’ activity books, but there is still a lot to do for children and I still know I would have loved this book as a child. There are enough activities to keep kids occupied for some time which is great. It’s definitely one Christmas book I would recommend.
