I recently tried to do some on-the-spot poetry after seeing a picture prompt on Twitter. The following is the short poem that came from that prompt. I thought I’d share it here with you guys as many of you probably haven’t seen that tweet. Let me know what you think 🙂
The Knot in My Soul
©The Strawberry Post
It will not release,
It will not untie,
The reality of truth,
From your sweet lie.
I cannot get past,
The hurt and the pain,
The feeling it will,
Happen again.
The knot in my soul,
The stain on my heart,
Now that you have,
Forced us apart.
Do you like this poem? What do you think of poetry in general? Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
Love it! Where did your inspiration come from?

Thank you! 🙂 🙂 Although the first two lines I was thinking of literally the knot in the rope, it morphed into feelings I’ve had in the past – I do have some bad memories/experiences in my past but they definitely fuel my poetry sometimes 😀

I think poetry is a great way to deal with experiences and feelings. It’s always nerve-wracking to let other people see it though 🙂

That’s true, it can be nerve-wracking, but the community of poetry people/bloggers are so nice, they are always supportive and encouraging 🙂 🙂
