Yes, it’s anther book haul post and this time I’ve been lucky to get my hands on three new books, all by differnt publishers!  Let’s take a look at what I have 😀

The first is a book I’ve been dying to read ever since I read Scream All Night by Derek Milman and heard about his next book to be released.  It’s the author’s second book, and it’s due out in August, but I’ve managed to get my hands on an ARC (Advanced Reading Copy), courtesy of publisher Jimmy Patterson Books, and I can’t wait to read this.  It’s inspired by a Hitchcock classic, can you guess which one? 😉 😀 :

Swipe Right for Murder by Derek MilmanFinding himself alone in a posh New York City hotel room for the night, Aidan does what any red-blooded seventeen-year-old would do–tries to hook up with someone new. But that lapse in judgement leads him to a room with a dead guy and a mysterious flash drive…two things that spark an epic case of mistaken identity that puts Aidan on the run–from the authorities, his friends, his family, the people who are out to kill him–and especially from his own troubled past.

This next book was a complete surprise to get through the door (on World Book Day – can you believe it! 😀 )  I have never really requested a proof via twitter before but when lovely people at Jo Fletcher Books asked who wanted ARCs of this, I read the blurb (and me being a fantasy fan) I just wanted this so much.  I got a message to say I’d been unlucky and hadn’t been offered the books so imagine my surprise and delight when this suddenly arriced on my doorstep (the message on twitter being a mistake as they later confirmed!) 😀 😀

Lord of Secrets Proof

Lord of Secrets (The Empty Gods #1) by Breanna TientzeOutlaw wizard Corcoran Gray has enough problems. He’s friendless, penniless and on the run from the tyrannical Mages’ Guild – and with the search for his imprisoned grandfather looking hopeless, his situation can’t get much worse.
So when a fugitive drops into his lap – literally – and gets them both arrested, it’s the last straw – until Gray realises that runaway slave Brix could be the key to his grandfather’s release. All he has to do is break out of prison, break into an ancient underground temple and avoid killing himself with his own magic in the process.
In theory, it’s simple enough. But as secrets unfold and loyalties shift, Gray discovers something with the power to change the nature of life and death itself.
Now Gray must find a way to protect the people he loves, but it could cost him everything, even his soul . . .

The last book is one I requested from Walker Books.  It’s a children’s novel, the second in a trilogy I really enjoyed, and I can’t wait to read it:

The Little Grey Girl (The Wild Magic Trilogy #2) by Celine KiernanThe queen and her raggedy witches have fled, but the kingdom is not yet healed.  The castle is haunted by memories of its brutal pasat.  The ghosts are angry, and one of them in particular possesses a magic which may be too much for even Mup and Mam to handle.

I can’t wait to read these three books and then share my reviews here.  Let me know if you’re excited for any of these books! 🙂
