Review:  This is a great book all about colouring in vintage fashions.  ‘Vintage Fashion Colouring Book’ is about A5 in size and has very thick pages of crisp white paper and some coloured in parts to each page.  The book isn’t very thick, similar to all the other Usborne ‘Patterns to Colour’ books but you do get a decent amount of colouring considering the price tag is much lower than many other colouring books.

The first page is an introduction to vintage fashions telling you all about the colours and patterns that were popular throughout the vintage era, the 1910s through to the 1980s and after that every two pages form a double page spread focused on one area of fashion, for example skirts, handbags, dresses, trousers, accessories, hats, etc.  Each page has various items from the different decades such as the page with skirts has plenty to colour in including the 1980s ra-ra skirt, the 1950s poodle skirt and the 1950s bubble skirt. Each page has the background coloured in but the actual garments are all black and white so you are free to choose the colours yourself.

This book isn’t only fun it’s also educational without feeling overly so.  It tells you a lot about the fashions of the past. I didn’t know about the bubble skirt for example, and there are plenty of items of women’s fashion throughout this book, all from the vintage range which covers the 1910s, 1920s, 1930s 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s to colour in and look at.

I’d recommend this book to anyone interested in vintage fashions whether they are a child or an adult. I’m an adult and really enjoy this book, even somebody interested in studying fashion might like this book as inspiration. It really is both educational while being completely fun.  A great book to colour in
and perfect for slightly older kids, teens and adults.  A great book for everyone who just loves colouring in and fashion 🙂
