In the spirit of lightening up the mood this week…Have you ever waited for someone to come, perhaps a delivery person and they just don’t seem to show up? Has this ever happened to you? Considering that lots of us will be waiting for things to be delivered before Christmas or for various things to happen before the holidays, I’m sure some of you can relate to this poem…? 🙂
Where Are You?
Where are you mister gas, post, delivery man?
I’ve been waiting for you all day, you and your van.
We arranged a meeting for this time, on this very day.
But now it’s getting late, it seems you’ve gone astray.
I saved a special day for you, a day I could have done,
Something very different: work, sleep or have fun.
Instead I chose to sit here, waiting by the door,
Because you said, its promised; your bosses even swore,
That you would really be here, at this very time,
And I would hear a knock, bell, ring or even chime.
But now I sit here on my own, wondering where you are.
Did you ever plan to come here, or choose to stay afar?

Have you ever waited for a delivery or service man or woman to appear but they haven’t? Can you relate to the frustration or have you been lucky enough to have only had good experiences when waiting for someone to come? Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
Totally perfect for this time of year when you have to go out but really need to stay in!

😀 I’m glad you like it, I’ve had more than one experience of this unfortunately, lol

I can certainly relate to this one. Very appropriate for this time of year, though not exclusively.

Thank you 🙂 I had this experience myself today, lol. At least the person showed up 🙂 Last week though my parcel went missing and I had to go around the neighbourhood knocking on doors to track it down as the delivery driver didn’t leave a note to say where he’d delivered it, just that it had been deliverred…silly person! lol

I hate when that happens. Hope you found the parcel in the end.
