Review: I always love reading the next Football School book and this time it’s not only packed with lots of interesting facts but even some magic! ‘Football School Season 4: Where Football Explains Celebrates the World’ is the fourth book in the series of fun books which not only teach you about football but lots of other fun things too. Although the fourth in the series you can read this without having read the other Football School books first as each book teaches different things in a very fun way.

Although perfect for children this book can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. As always the chapters are arranged into a school timetable, each chapter being a different lesson, or double lesson, and the lesson subjects this time include biology, music, politics and even magic among others! Every lesson has football in mind though, so although the biology lesson is all about saliva, and does explain a bit of biology around saliva, it also talks about saliva related to football, such as how much saliva footballers spit out on the pitch, and some interesting (if slightly icky) momets of footballers spitting at people. Every lesson in the book is told in an interesting and humerous way with added funny illustrations throughout, it’s just the perfect book to get kids interested in reading.

I always love reading these Football School books even though I’m not a football fan. I still end up enjoying them and even end up learning new things too, I especially liked the politics lesson and field trip which were more about places that Football’s been played, and interesting facts around new countries. Every lesson/chapter of the book has a short quiz at the end of it with about five questions with the answers in the back of the book. Every double page is also filled with lots of fun illustrations in black, white and grey. These illustrations really add to the humour of the book and many times make you want to laugh out loud! They are especially good as they break up the text sizes into easier to read sections making it more fun and easier to read.

I have really enjoyed reading this fourth installment of Football School and I’m already looking forward to a fifth (crosses fingers). I especially enjoyed this particluar bok as this time there’s a chapter/lesson on magic! And not just football related tricks but actual magic tricks that you can try yourself at home…I’ve always been obssessed with magic since I was a child! These books are definitely perfect for any football fan and I would recommend the whole series too as these books really are brilliant at teaching things about football and lots of other subjects while doing it in such a fun and entertaining way. You really don’t feel like you’re learning even though you are!
