Sometimes in life we just need to make a choice, to make that leap and decide to move forward in a direction that we may have been too worried or reluctant to move towards.  Of course our worries can hold us back, and sometimes we hope a situation will change on its own without our doing anything.  But at other times we just need to make that choice, to make that leap of faith, to choose and then do.

I hope you like this short poem I wrote a while ago, and when it comes to a situation you may be contemplating or worried about, just remember that if a situation isn’t making you happy, then you have a choice, you can choose to do nothing and stay in that situation forever or you can take a leap forward and make a move towards something new.  It may be scary, you may want things to naturally change, but they will only do that if you actively make that choice.  So whatever it is in life, choose.  Because we all have a right to live the life we want and to be happy.  We all have a choice, we always have a choice.

I Choose…

©The Strawberry Post

Shattered and broken,
Battered and blue.
Not another minute,
I won’t wait for you.

You tore my heart,
Left a hole.
You Tried to kill,
My very soul.

I stop it now,
I no longer forgive.
I choose to survive.
I choose to live.
