I received this very interesting historical fiction novel by the lovely publisher Penguin Michael Joseph. The story sounds so intriguing and I can’t wait to delve into this as it reminds me a little of another historical fiction book I read last year which is also set during the cold war. I just love the sound of this one and will be taking part in a blog tour that’ll be starting soon, so I hope you’ll all keep an eye out for that. 🙂 For now let’s check out the book and the blurb…

Atomic Love by Jennie Fields – Rosalind Porter has history. As one of the leading young scientists working on the Manhatten Project, she helped end the Second World War by inventing the world’s most terrible weapon. Only her passion for colleague Thomas Weaver burned as brightly. But the end of both affairs left her feeling guilt-ridden and heartbroken.
Five years later, in Chicago, Weaver is back in touch. Roz, however, is hesitant. For FBI agent – and damaged prisoner of war – Charlie Szydlo suspects Weaver of passing nuclear secrets to Russia and he is asking Roz to spy on her former lover. Roz, torn between the man she never stopped loving and drawn to this wounded but demanding agent, reluctantly agrees.
A pawn in a deadly game, Roz faces both terrible danger and a heartbreaking choice: believing the man who taught her how to love, or trusting the man her love might save?
I’m so excited to get the chance to read this and I hope you’ll all look forward to my blog tour post which is happening in October, although the blog tour begins tomorrow so watch out for it! 😀
What do you think of this book? Are you looking forward to reading any new books? Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
Happy reading, Cat. Read Dune when I was a wee lass, and don’t remember having my mind blown. So I’m going to read it again. Great excuse to go on Amazon this evening.
