Although sometimes colouring in very complex images is fun, at other times it’s also fun to just colour in anything, even the simpler images found in childrens’ colouring books. One such image is this royal crown from the children’s colouring book Kings, Queens & Palaces Colouring Book. I don’t know if you can see it but I’ve tried very hard to add some depth to the jewels and the crown’s purple velvet with some choice shading. I have no idea if I got the colours right or not, but there’s something so fun about colouring your own royal crown! Now I just need to try colouring in the rest of the book. 😀

Do you like my colouring? What do you think of a book that lets you colour in royal palaces and jewels? Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
You did a great job with the depth and shadows. It is something I have recently try to apply to my drawings! But it isn’t easy.
I always asked for a coloring book for my birthday. It is a very relaxing hobby.
These days however I like to color digitally. I use the “Sketchbook” app (which is free) and it gives you a lot types of pencils and brushes 😀

Thank you! 🙂 I have never tried colouring in digitally before, I didn’t know there were different pencils and brushes used, I’d love to try out that app, thanks for the recommendation 🙂

I like the colours you’ve chosen for the crown. What kind of pens or pencils did you use?

Looks fun and yes, I can see how you’ve added depth to the gems. Lovely choice of colours!
