Yes, today it’s yet another book tag, this time found during an internet search, on The Book Nut. According to that blog it was originally created by A Perfection Called Books and Dana Square (tried to get the links but it didn’t work 😦 ). As many of you know I’ve been in a bit of a blog tag frenzy lately finding more and more fun ones to do and I’m even thinking of creating my own! Yes, it’s true! Although the one I’m thinking of doing, is super gaming geeky and so silly I’m not sure anyone would want to copy it, lol. Anyway, today’s book tag is the TBR (or To Be Read tag). This is all about the to-be-read pile that anyone who loves to read books probably has. As I’ve starrted noticing with a few tags a few questions sometimes repeat themselves with other tags, but it doesn’t matter to me as I’ve had fun answering these questions so I hope you’ll enjoy my answers and maybe want to do this tag yourself too.
If you’re interested in doing this tag, don’t forget to either tag this post in yours and let me know about your post in the comments below. Or if you prefer just tell me what your answers would be to these questions, and let’s see if we share any similarities. 🙂
1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I have some of my books that I want to read listed on Goodreads, while others I keep in a notebook at home and a few more on my Amazon wishlist. The rest are books that I have bought and keep at home, basically everything on my book shelves which hasn’t been read is also on the TBR list. 🙂
2. Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?
Print, always print. I am not a fan of ebooks, I just can’t read them well these days as they give me headaches and eye strain, even with all the settings adjusted for easy reading. I still do try very occassionally to read an ebook, but I suffer ill-effects afterwards so I try to avoid them. All books I want to read are print versions, except the occassional short book I’ve found exclusive to the ebook format.
3. A book that’s been on your TBR list the longest
On Goodreads the book that’s been there the longest is The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton. It’s a book I won in a twitter competition four years ago and I am still interested in reading it. However if you want to go back to my collective TBR list then it’s probably one of many classics I bought when on a classics binge nearly ten years ago. The one I’m most interessted in reading at the moment is The Complete Fairy Tales by The Brothers Grimm. 😀
4. A book you recently added to your TBR
The Players by Darren O’Sullivan. This thiller’s blurb had me hooked the moment I read it and I can’t wait to find out what sort of twisted game is being played, although it’s not out until January! 😮 Here’s the blurb, see if you like this as much as I do:
A stranger has you cornered.
They call themselves The Host.
You are forced to play their game.
In it one person can live and the other must die.
You are the next player.
You have a choice to make.
This is a game where nobody wins…
5. A Book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover
I’ve never put a book on my TBR list only because of its cover. The blurb has to intrigue me as well, however if I’m to pick one I’ll go with The Foundling by Stacy Halls. The description has really interested me, but oh my that cover!😍
6. A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading
I always think there’s a chance that one day I might read any of the books on my TBR list. I don’t add books unless I’m really interested in them so it’s unlikely that I’d never read one of the books on my list. However there is a book I’m reluctant to go back to after starting it and not finishing it (DNF) some years ago. It’s a book I once received from that dodgy publisher a few years back. I tried reading one book that was very pooly edited and it was so boring with nothing happening in it that in the end I felt my mind going bonkers with the bordom and I couldn’t take it any more and I just gave up reading it. It’s probably the one book still on my Goodreads profile that I’m not sure if I’ll ever try reading again.
7. An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for
The Cousins by Karen M. McManus. I’ve read One of Us is Lying and One of Us is Next by her and they are such brilliant ya thrillers! I can’t wait to read her next book The Cousins. The description sounds so interesting and I might just have been lucky enough to get on a blog tour for the book (fingers crossed)! 😉 😮
8. A book on your TBR that basically everyone’s read but you
Harry Potter by J K Rowling. Yes, I still haven’t read Harry Potter even though I’ve bleated on about wanting to. It’s a book that I feel almost everyone has read except me and I’m still looking forward to getting into the series once I get the chance.
9. A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you
I follow so many different bloggers that not everyone recommends the same books. In fact I have often seen so many different books recommended that I just can’t say that there’s a specific book that everyone has recommended. We all have different tastes and it’s fun to hear everyone’s different opinions. And now looking at my TBR list, I’m not sure there’s any book that’s been recommended by a large amount of bloggers. Unless you count Harry Potter?
10. A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read
Legendary the second book in the Caraval series by Stephanie Garber. I read Caraval a few years ago and I am so excited for the next book in the series. Why I haven’t read it yet I don’t know! lol
11. How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
At the time of writing up this blog post ther are 60.
Well I hope you liked my answers to this fun and quick tag. And maybe you got to know me and my reading a little better too. Let me know what books you have on your TBR list or share what your answers would be to the above questions. 🙂
What do you think of my answers? What would your answers be to these questions? Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
Loved reading your answers.
My TBR list on Goodreads is scary. Like you I only put books on there if I’d really like to read them. Unfortunately I tend to end up finding a lot of books I want to read, so have a LOT of books on there. No, I don’t own copies of them all. Mind you, even my TBR pile based only on books I own copies of is long enough that I could not buy books for a couple of years and still have plenty to read. I just can’t help it. *sigh*

Don’t worry I think most bookworms can’t help but owning a huge amount of books 🙂 We have shelvesof books at home that I know I haven’t read and they’ve been on the shelves for years but I always plan to one day read them, lol. Maybe I’ll do a post about that one day, show off all the books I haven’t read 😀 There’s just too many books in the world to read them all though I wish we could.

I’m sure going to try and read as many as I can in my lifetime though. 😉
