Today I’m so super thrilled to share this amazing bundle from the wonderful people at Harper360YA! 😀  Last week, on twitter, I saw everyone showing off the books they had been lucky to receive from Harper 360YA before the lockdown began again here in England.  I was pleased to see so many amazing books but thought I’d missed out on the chance of reading another of their amazing books because nothing came through my door, despite me requesting.  However, a few days later, at the weekend in fact, I suddenly got this amazing book post and I’m so super excited!

I don’t know if the letterbox in my front door is a portal to some black hole, lol, but I always seem to receive post later than everyone else.  But anyway, onto this amazing package because inside I didn’t just receive a book I’ve really wanted to read since finding out about it, I love books set in a different culture, but I also received a recipe card for Jelly Bells, a book mark and a pink tote bag!  It’s my birthday on Friday so as you can probably imagine, this is like an amazing birthday treat!  And the bag is pink, pink!  My favourite colour! 😀 😀 😀

Here’s everything together…

And now for the individual things, first the book, bookmark and that delicious recipe for Jelly Bells.  I might just try that for my birthday!😋

My Heart Underwater by Larel Fores FantauzzoCorazon Tagubio is an outcast at the Catholic school she attends on scholarship. Her crush on her teacher, Ms. Holden, doesn’t help. At home, Cory worries that less-than-perfect grades aren’t good enough for her parents, who already work overtime to support her distant half-brother in the Philippines.  After an accident leaves her dad comatose, Cory feels like Ms. Holden is the only person who really understands her. But when a crush turns into something more and the secret gets out, Cory is sent to her relatives in Manila. She’s not prepared to face strangers in an unfamiliar place, but she discovers how the country that shaped her past might also redefine her future.  This #ownvoices novel takes readers on a journey across the world as Cory comes to understand her family, her relationships, and ultimately, herself.

And here’s the other side of that tote bag…

I can’t wait to read this book, set partly in the Philippines. I’m excited as I love stories set in different cultures, having some different experiences myself with a family that’s mostly from another country!  I know I might sound a bit overly enthusiastic but I am giddy with joy that I got this, especially as it does feel like a mini birthday present to moi! 😁😆  As usual I’ll have a review on this blog as soon as possible.

For those that may have wondered why I’ve been a bit slow to put up reviews of the books I got recently, well I went through a bit of a mini reading slump the last month or so when I got some bad news about some family members and their health.  Things have been difficult for everyone this year, but hearing that and my own health problems getting in the way put me into a bit of a slow slump where I’ve been sleeping more than anything else, lol!  But this month I’m catching back up and I’m excited to get all these book reviews up for you 🙂 I hope you’ll enjoy them! 😀  In the meantime, while I get there, let me know what you’re all reading!

What do you think of this haul?  What books are you looking forward to reading?  Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
