I received some more exciting book post over the weekend. A big thank you to Sriya Varadharajan from publisher Michael Joseph for this stunning proof copy. I can’t wait to start reading this as it’s part of a blog tour which I’m taking part in, in March and apparently this book is also a leading monther’s day title! So keep an eye out for this one published on 4th of March! 🙂 I just love the look of this cover and the story sounds so intriguing. Let’s take a look…
Behind Closed Doors by Catherine Alliott – From the outside, anyone would think that Lucy Palmer has it all: loving children, a dashing husband and a gorgeous home.
But when her marriage to Michael comes to an abrupt and unexpected end, her life is turned upside down in a flash.
As the truth of her marriage threatens to surface, Lucy seizes the opportunity to swap her house in London – and the stories it hides – for a rural escape to her parents’ farmhouse in the Chilterns.
But Lucy gets more than she bargained for when she moves back to her childhood home. With her parents growing older disgracefully, she can hardly keep up with their social life – especially when it throws her into the path of an old flame.
Coming face-to-face with her mistakes, Lucy is forced to confront the secrets she’s been keeping from herself and those she loves.
Is she ready to let someone in? Or will she leave the door to her past firmly closed . . .
Doesn’t this sound like the perfect sort of read for mother’s day and any time of year really? I love any story with secrets and I just couldn’t pass up the chance of a book with a cat on the cover! 😀 My review for this will appear on a Saturday in March, not my usual posting day I know but it was the last day left and I couldn’t pass the chance of reading and reviewing this one! So so watch out for my review in March and in the meantime tell me what books you’re getting excited to read. 🙂
What do you think of this book? What books are you looking forward to reading soon? Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
I LOVE the cover of this book – so bright yet mysterious! The black cat captured my eye because it is symbolic for bad luck in some places in Europe as well as wealth and prosperity…could be looking into this a little too much 😆 The novel sounds really intriguing 😋 and can’t wait to read your review! 💗☀️

Thank you! Oh I definitely love this cover for the black cat alone! 😀 I don’t think you’re thinking too much into it, I’d be surprised if the cat wasn’t part of the story in some way. 🙂
