I received a wonderful looking book in the post last week from the lovely people at Piccadilly Press.  This sounds like such a fun children’s book, and the start of a very funny series.  The early proof copy I’ve received has also come with not only a massive bite mark out of the front page 😮 and a press release (which books from publisher’s often do), but it’s also got a recipe for Monster Doughnuts to make at home!  Let’s take a look at what I’m talking about! 😀 (description from the press release)…

Monster Doughnuts by Gianno Pollero & Sarah HorneTen-year-old Grace likes doughnuts and cakes as much as the next kid – but they are also her secret weapon. Grace is a monster hunter – and everyone knows how much monsters LOVE any kind of sweet treat! Just don’t tell them about the secret exploding baking powder inside…
Grace’s master-baker sister, Danni, keeps Grace well stocked with supplies from their bakery, Cake Hunters.  Want to rid your bedroom of a pesky Sock-Stealer?  Sneak some Monster Exploder into a peanut butter and marmite cookie (their absolute favourite).  Town being terrorised by a Snot-nosed Ogre?  Defeat them with a killer mille-feuille, of course!
When Grace’s Monster Scanning Machine alerts her and Danni to the doughnut-loving, people-eating, board-game-playing cyclops Mr Harris, the sisters realise they’re about to face their biggest challenge yet …

And here is the recipe that also came with the book, I think I might just try to make these! 😋…

This book publishes in April and as usual I’ll be leaving my review here as soon as I get the chance to read this, it sounds like a brilliant start to a fun series, doesn’t it? 😀

What do you think of this book?  Would you try making some monster doughnuts?  Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
