Yet more post came this month, wow what a busy month, and this time it’s more wonderful books from publisher Barrington Stoke. These books are publishing in the first days of March, so very soon, and I can’t wait to read these as I love both historical stories and ones featuring animals! Let’s take a look at these interesting fiction books for children…
The Animals of Madame Malone’s Music Hall by Laura Wood & Ellie Snowdon – Summer by the seaside isn’t working out as Callie hoped. Instead of enjoying sunshine and ice cream, she’s stuck helping Gran’s drama group put on a show to save the local theatre. Worst of all, they’ve asked her to star in their play. With Callie’s stage fright, there’s not a chance that’s going to happen.
But when she goes exploring backstage, Callie stumbles into an altogether different world – another theatre, run by a wise fox and her troupe of rather quarrelsome talking animals. Forced to face her fears, will Callie be able to put on a good show in the final fight to save Madame Malone’s Music Hall?
The Lasr Hawk by Elizabeth Wein – Nazi Germany is a dangerous place for a girl with a stutter, but when Ingrid soars through the skies in her beloved glider planes, sghe feels safe and free.
It’s like a dream come true when her hero, daring test pilot Hanna Reitsch, invites Ingrid on a propaganda tour. But through her work with Hanna, Ingrid learns some dangerours truths about the Nazi regime and a shocking secret mission that could change the course of the war.
When everything is at stake, Ingrid must decide where her loyalties lie.
Don’t these books sound great? I can’t wait to start reading and sharing my thoughts with you as soon as I am able, in reviews here on this blog, so please look out for them. 🙂
