On the 13th of November, which also happens to be my birthday, it was World Kindness Day, a day dedicated to random kind acts of kindness and a day to think of the kind things we can do for others. On that day I shared a little bit about this book I received on my social media channels, but today I wanted to do a proper book haul post, showing you the wonderful book I received from Studio Press, which is an imprint of Bonnier Books. This book is dedicated to kindness, and has some really lovely stories inside, though I have yet to read it through properly…
Kindness: A User’s Guide by Ali Catterall & Kitty Collins – This empowering guide to kindness will inspire you to make a real difference to your life and the lives of others.
It contains over 50 stories about famous (and not so famous) acts of kindness, from Jacinda Arden’s empathetic leadership during the pandemic to Marcus Rashford’s determination to support underpriveledged children, and the real story of the WWI Christmas Truce. It also offers ideas for acts of kindness you can carry out yourself, as well as quotes about kindness to help encourage change.
Because kindness is Power.
I’ve already had the chance to peruse this book and found a lovely story about a ‘nurse’ cat in Poland that is helping nurse other animals back to health. It looks interesting and fun to read with quotes and a lovely overall look and feel to it. I will be reviewing it here soon so I hope you’ll watch out for that review because I think this book is going to be a wonderful one to read and to give as a gift! 🙂
Do you think it’s important to celebrate kindness? Did you do anyting for World Kindness Day? Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
