Today I’m excited to share with you some book post which came last month.  I’ve been behind in sharing pictures of all the books I’ve received, so huge apologies, but check out this lovely proof copy from publisher Penguin, and a huge thak you to the publisher and Nina for my copy too.  This is a ya novel featuring witchcraft and is partly set in the 90s, which has me extra excited as that was my favourite decade having grown up then! 😀

First let’s see what actually came in the post…

Along with a copy of the book there’s a letter from the author! 🙂  The proof copy has more detail than you can probably see in this photo.  There’s an extra glossy image on the front, which can be seen if you tilt the book to the light.  It’s of a rabbit or hare (in a leaping position) and adds to how brilliant this book looks!…

Our Crooked Hearts by Melissa Albert – In this family magic runs deep but secrets run deeper.
Ivy’s summer kicks off with a series of strange and distubing events.  As unnatural offerings appear on her doorstep and she’s haunted by fragmented memories from her childhood, she soon faces a dark family secret: there is more to her mother, Dana, than meets the eye…
Dana’s story starts the summer she turns sixteen, when with the help of her best friend and an ambitious older girl, she embarks on a major fling with the supernatural.  As the trio’s aspirations darken, they find themselves speeding towards a violent breaking point.
Years after it began, Ivy and Dana’s shared story will come down to a reckoning among a mother, a daughter and the dark forces they never should’ve messed with.

Doesn’t this sound exciting? 😀  Here’s the back of the proof copy with some more words…

This book sounds so good and I love the fact that a parent in a ya novel is a more prominent character than they usually are!  I cna’t wait to find out what happens and I’ll be posting a review as part of a tour on the 10th July, so please do look out for that. 🙂  The book is publisehd on the 30th of June and in the meantime let me know if you enjoy fantasy or urban fantasy and would you want to read this?

What do you think of this book proof?  Do you like books featuring witchcraft?  Let me know what you think in the comments below 🙂
